There is no question that getting park tickets for Walt Disney World is a project unto itself. Now, of course you can get tickets directly through Disney as part of your trip package, but usually, they are not the cheapest. So how do you get the best value tickets? Here’s our top 5 tips.
#1. Shop around for the best Disney World ticket prices.

You should shop around for anything you buy. Your hotel, your flights, and of course, your park tickets. Disney sell tickets directly, but often are not the cheapest option. Ticket vendors are a dime a dozen, but finding the best value is the most important thing to do.
Ireland and UK get special 7, 14 and 21 day tickets that are not available to USA residents, because Disney expect your trip to be longer than those that are within the same country. So how do you find the best value ticket?
Simply put, we recommend joining Deewol’s Orlando Park Ticket Updates. She posts weekly updates on the cheapest tickets around, for more than just Disney as well. We have personally used her suggestions for years and made savings every time we have gone.
#2. Decide how long you are going for to Disney World.
As mentioned, there are different options available. One day, two day, three day, seven day, fourteen day, and so on. Decide how many days you want to spend at the parks.
#3. Do you want Park Hopper tickets for Walt Disney World?

Will you go to more than one park in a day? On paper, this could be an ‘Of course!’, but think if you will ACTUALLY move between parks. Now, this definitely does give you a lot more flexibility; go to Animal Kingdom in the morning, when the animals are the most active, take a break in the afternoon, and then catch the fireworks in Magic Kingdom in the evening. You’ll need a Park Hopper ticket to do this. Keep in mind, you can even check out Fast Passes in other parks, and just hop over there to take advantage. remember, you can add Park Hopper to your ticket at any time, though it means it will add it for all days of your ticket, not just that particular day.
#4. Do you want extras, like a trip to a Water Park, or Mini Golf?

Another thing to consider; will you go to Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach, or do you want to have a round of Mini Golf included in your ticket? The Park Hopper Plus option adds these to your normal park hopper tickets, for an extra cost of course, but allows more flexibility when planning your trip.
#5. Special Events at Magic Kingdom

Disney has special events throughout the year, as well as exclusive ‘party’ events that are an extra charge. These include the Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween parties in September/October, and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party during November and December, as well as other party events throughout the year. These events have limited amounts of tickets, meaning lower crowds, and meaning shorter queues, extra bonuses (like trick or treating!) and overall, a better experience in the parks.
