Walt Disney World: The Top 10 things to know about Fast Passes – Skipping the Lines

FastPass+ makes Walt Disney World easier and more fun! Essentially, its prebooking your time to ride your most desired attractions around Walt Disney World. Disney only offers FP+ at select popular attractions, not all of them, and getting your favourite ride in advance is a great way to build anticipation for your big trip!

By selecting a date and a time slot, you can go into the ‘fast queue’, where people with Fast Passes for that time period are prioritised ahead of those in the Stand By queue.

How to Book Fast Passes for Disney World - a Step by Step Guide ...

Here’s our top ten things to know about booking a Fast Pass+ at Walt Disney World.

  1. Booking a Fast Pass in advance gives you the best opportunity to experience your favourite ride, and guarantees you a shorter wait time than the stand by queue.
  2. Guests staying at a Disney resort hotel may make Fast Passes reservations for the entire length of their trip, up to 60 days in advance of their trip. Everyone else with park tickets may book Fast Pass reservations up to 30 days in advance, one day at a time.
  3. Guests booking last-minute trips may find that Fast Pass reservations are no longer available for their favourite attractions, so be sure to know your window, and book in advance!
  4. There is no fee to use Fast Passes — it’s available to everyone and free with park tickets.
  5. Once you use your 3 Fast Passes in a single day, you can book additional Fast Passes, one by one. Once you use a Fast Pass, you can book another, over and over. For this reason we recommend booking all 3 as early in the day as possible for your favourite attractions.
  6. Most Fast Pass attraction reservations specify a one-hour window during which you may enter the attraction.
  7. You cannot book your 3 daily Fast Passes in 3 different parks; they must all be in the same park. After you use your initial 3, then you can book one by one in different parks if you wish, so Park Hopping is a possibility.
  8. Your Fast Passes can be booked online or though the Disney World app on your mobile phone. Keep your phone with you in the park and check in for Fast Passes throughout the day.
  9. People cancel Fast Passes all the time, right up to the very time of the actual Fast Pass. Keep checking your Disney World app to see if there are different Fast Passes available through the day, and swap your reservations for more desirable ones.
  10. Each of the four Parks does Fast Passes a little differently. See below for information about how each work.

Should I use a Fast Pass on Fireworks Shows or Nighttime Specataculars?

No – in our experience, any of the Nighttime Spectacular shows, whether the fireworks at Magic Kingdom, Rivers of Light at Animal Kingdom, Fantasmic at Hollywood Studios, or EPCOT Forever at EPCOT, you are able to see the full effect of the show from a wide variety of areas. So no, we don’t recommend using a Fast Pass on a night show.
