Hotel Cheyenne at Disneyland Paris

It’s been a while since I last updated my blog!

About 6 weeks ago, I had the pleasure of visiting Disneyland Paris once again (7th visit in 3 years) and stayed on site in Disneyland Paris’s Hotel Cheyenne, the Toy Story themed hotel.

This was my first visit here to this hotel, but my wife’s second after she visited for Pride weekend last year. My first impressions is that its a bit of a ‘chalet’ set up, with individual buildings accessed from outside, rather than one hotel like Sequoia, Marvel or Newport Bay. Thankfully, the weather was on our side the entire trip with not a drop of rain and 25c during the Bastille Day weekend (more on that to come).

The theming is quite excellent – some of the other on site hotels lack character theming (looking at you Newport Bay) while Cheyenne was refurbised recently to incorporate a Toy Story theme. The hotel itself feels like an old-style western town, while each of the rooms now have Toy Story elements. My particular favourites are the curtains and the Woody-leg lamp.

On arrival to the room, you may be confused as to ‘where is the other bed’… which I did. They are trundle beds, which means that it is hidden within the couch. We had 2 small kids who shared it together, and was actually quite comfortable, as I had to share it one night as my daughter insisted on sleeping with mommy 😀 My one complaint is that the curtains/blinds are not black out, and light seeps through in the early summer sun, well before any parks open.

As we’ve been several times, every morning was a relaxed experience, and we did not take advantage of any extra magic hours, but did take advantage of the fact that it is walking distance (as nearly all of them are except Davy Crockett).

Merch store is fine, but small. The BIG seller for a lot of sellers – ON SITE STARBUCKS. I personally am not a Starbucks person (too expensive for bad coffee) but my wife is definitely partial, so she was very happy with this perk.

They also have usual shuttle bus to the train station perk that all hotels have.

Would I stay here again? Absolutely – the room and price I got, I thought was excellent. For context, 4 park tickets for 2 adults/2 children is about €1200. I paid €1414 for hotel and tickets combined, meaning that 3 nights in the hotel was about €200 – cant get anything like that in Ireland, that’s for sure!

Top 3 Pros:

  1. Walking distance (10-15 mins) from park entrance via Disney Village
  2. Theming is great in rooms and around the park
  3. Security to me didnt seem nearly as annoying as some of the other hotels on entry.
  4. Sneaky 4th – price was very, very worth it.

Top 3 Cons:

  1. Only outdoor accesses to rooms, which means if it rains, you’ll have to wait or brave it. Thankfully we had glorious weather entire time.
  2. It IS just that bit further to walk than Sequoia or Newport Bay
  3. Uneven dirt paths – if its windy, it can be dusty as there are only dirt paths around the hotel.

Would I stay here again? YES. Is it my favourite DLP hotel? NO! That still lives with Sequoia Lodge. This is now 2nd though, as in terms of theming/value it outperforms Newport.
